The young woman who tried her luck 10 years ago on reality TV, is about to release a new single with one of the world's leading pop singers. In just a decade, Camila Cabello has become a major star of Latin music. She again collaborated with Ed Sheeran for on new single “Bam, Bam,” which will be released on March 4.

In a preview posted on social media, it was clear if Sheeran will contribute his addictive guitar melodies, vocals, or both on the new track. Although most of the song is written in English — describing the complexities experienced during a long, sentimental relationship — Cabello uses the phrase in Spanish "así es la vida, si," as a nod to her origins.

The short minute preview of “Bam, Bam” gives off Latin and tropical sounds, and it is still unknown how the English singer's contribution will fit.

"Camila has sent me a song, and I'm listening to it to look for new ideas," explained Sheeran. He already collaborated with the young Cuban on "South of the Border," a song included on the English pop star album, N6 Collaborations Project.

Cabello said that “on March 4, I will premiere a song with Ed Sheeran, one of my favorite human and artist. Also, my birthday is the day before, so it’s triple win.” Some speculated on social media that the song will be a farewell to her relationship with singer Shawn Mendes.

Born on March 3, 1997 in Cojímar, a small fishing village near Havana, Cabello grew up in a family of migrants. First, moving to Mexico, her father's country, and later, taking a bus to Disney World in Miami. That's the excuse that her mother used to smooth her migration to the U.S.

"I was not aware then, and now I realize. It must have been scary for them,” she said on reflection of the journey.

As a child, Cabello was shy and introverted. In 2012, she participated in the reality show The X Factor, and with four other participants, formed the group Fifth Harmony. After releasing two albums with the group, she decided to start her solo career in 2016.

“It was not the maximum expression of me individually,” she said.

While she was preparing her first solo release, she was included by Time magazine in the list of “30 most influential teenagers of 2016.” In a short time, her career exploded as she collaborated with Pitbull and J Balvin, opened the American tour of Bruno Mars, and covered “Quisiera ser” with Juanes.

When Cabello released her first album Camila in 2018, she was already an international phenomenon. She also made the leap to the big screen last year and played Cinderella. Needless to say, that early childhood shyness has bloomed.
