The list announced by the magazine also includes other personalities such as the mayor of Santo Domingo, Carolina Mejía, among others.

The Soy Mujer Poderosa forum seeks to exalt Dominican women who generate a positive impact on society.

"The role of women has been radically transformed in all areas. Many have had to overcome major crises and learn to reinvent their role in society and in the world. The Forbes Powerful Women Forum has become the leading platform that recognizes these women, who have made great strides in using their voices, their resources or their public figures to create significant change in the Dominican Republic," commented Forbes magazine.

Dr. Medina is an internationally recognized plastic surgeon for the change she has brought to her medical practice, based on the importance of loving and accepting oneself first, and then having external fixes that improve self-esteem, according to the press release.

Another of Dr. Medina's great achievements has been the publication of her book "La belleza de amarme" (The beauty of loving myself), which has become an international reference that promotes self-love.

In addition, the Dominican has been a leader in awareness campaigns such as "Tocarte las mammas es vida", "Enamórate de ti" and the GRACIAtón, a marathon for gratitude that promotes this action as the best medicine.

Forbes magazine named 50 powerful women in different areas such as gastronomy, health and sports.
