With the beginning of Holy Week in Cartagena, the city began to receive hundreds of tourists seeking to enjoy a few days of rest in front of the sea.

According to figures from Corpoturismo, this festive week will attract approximately 120 thousand visitors to Cartagena, something that motivates the entire chain that benefits from tourism to continue betting on the economic reactivation of the city.

According to the city's hotel associations Cotelco and Asotelca, room occupancy already exceeds 85%, so projections for this week are positive.

"We hope to be able to continue on the path of growth to continue to wipe out the losses of 2020, as many are still not finished and are confident that the opening of new air routes and greater dynamism of cruise ships will contribute to improve the guarismos this 2022", said Monica Fadul, director of Fenalco Bolivar, who assured that Cartagena and formal trade are prepared for the demand for products and services during this week.

Tourist activities

During the Easter Week season, the Mayor's Office of Cartagena launched a series of activities under the campaign 'I love Cartagena', where visitors and locals are invited to enjoy a series of cultural and recreational activities for these days of rest.

Among the most outstanding activities of the date is the Festival del Dulce, which takes place in the city's Plaza de los Coches; and the Festival del Marisco y el Folclor to be held in the township of Punta Canoa, rural area of Cartagena.

Other outings for this season are walks through the Historic Center of the city, visits to museums, swimming in the different beaches of the area and the practice of water sports.

For those who visit the city there will always be an activity to do, especially in times of high tourism as it will be this week, until next Sunday, April 17th.
