Cartagena has been nominated at the World Travel Awards in the categories 'Best Leading Cultural Destination in South America,' 'Leading Honeymoon Destination in South America,' 'Most Romantic Destination in South America,' and 'Leading Cruise Port in South America.'

These awards are known as the Oscars of the tourism industry and the best cities are nominated every year in different categories for the public to vote on which destination deserves the Seal of Excellence.

Voting for the worldwide recognition will be open to travel professionals, media, tourists and the general public until July 29.

The objective of the World Travel Awards is to recognize excellence in all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries worldwide, through the Seal of Excellence in different categories
