Mexican actor Juan Pablo Medina was recently hospitalized on emergency due to a venous thrombosis, which could have caused him to lose a leg. The company that represents the actor, 3Managment, addressed his condition in a statement published on its social media.

According to information presented by the program De Primera Mano, the Mexican actor reportedly lost his right leg after being admitted two weeks ago to the Ángeles del Pedregal hospital due to a serious blood clot. However, this information has yet to be confirmed. What is known at the moment is that during his stay at the hospital, his health worsened and Medina entered intensive care.

"We received very delicate information regarding the actor of La casa de las flores, we were informed that while he was filming a series, he began to feel ill and was rushed to the hospital. There he was diagnosed with a presumed thrombosis and because of this it was apparently said that one of his legs had to be amputated to save his life," said Eduardo Carrillo, a journalist covering the program

Later, journalist Addis Tuñón added a little more information to the developing story.

"Juan Pablo was taken to the hospital for a thrombosis, but fortunately he is out of danger. He is out of intensive care, he is eating and is recovering favorably," she confirmed during the show.

Friends and people close to the actor have been concerned about the situation and wish him a speedy recovery. Despite not having all the details about his situation, ex-wife Jimena Carranza said he is stable.

"We are all supporting him, above all to handle this with much respect and always supporting him, obviously, because he is someone I love very much," she said.

For the moment, both Medina's relatives and the agency representing him have preferred to remain tight-lipped with information regarding his condition.

The actor, born in Arlington, Virginia but of Mexican origin, studied at the Centro de Formación Actoral de la televisora TV Azteca. In 2001 he debuted in the soap opera Cuando seas mía, alongside Silvia Navarro and Sergio Basáñez.

Later he would star in El país de las mujeres, a novela starring Rebecca Jones and Sasha Sokol, and Enamórate, alongside Yahir and Martha Higareda. His international fame would come with his casting in La casa de las flores, as Diego Olvera.
