Enero 21, 2023Donald Trump will ask Congress today for deep cuts to many federal programs, with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of State stand out as targets for the biggest spending reductions, as reported in The Guardian.
His federal budget proposal includes removing federal funds for 19 independent bodies, including public broadcasting, the arts and regional issues, and a hike in Military spending and anti-immigration policies.
Although the Congress is controlled by Republicans, it may reject some of the President's proposed cuts. Moderate Republicans have already expressed unease with potential cuts to popular domestic programs such as home-heating subsidies, clean-water projects and job training, as reported in The Guardian.
