It is said that we Latinos have music in our blood and the band Café Tacvba is no exception. Café Tacvba, one of the most important Mexican (Latin) bands in the world, and recent winners of the Hispanic Heritage Awards  https://www.pbs.org/show/hispanic-heritage-awards/, will be performing in Sacramento this November at the Hard Rock Café in Sacramento. All the information you need to know is here.

The Mexican band will perform on 30 November at 8:00 p.m. in the hotel Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Sacramento, California.

¿What are the Hispanic Heritage Awards?

It is a celebration that began at the White House during the month of October to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in America.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards are among the highest honors given to US Latinos by Latinos. Past honorees include Celia Cruz; Linda Ronstadt; Carlos Santana, Salma Hayek, Bad Bunny, Ivy Queen, Zoe Saldaña, Residente, Selena Gomez and more inspiring figures.

Café Tacvba a perfect quartet

According to the Society of Actors and Composers of Mexico (SACM), the quartet began in the 1980s as "a garage group of design students" in the Satélite neighbourhood, taking the name Café Tacuba (later changed to Café Tacvba) in 1989, when they solidified the line-up that to this day is still in place with Rubén Albarrán on vocals and guitars, guitarist José Alfredo Rangel Joselo, bassist Enrique Rangel Quique and keyboardist Emmanuel del Real Meme.

Together they already have more than 30 years and a solid career that includes several awards. According to the musical career of the quartet, we can highlight the following awards. Grammy Latino for best album of alternative music (two times); best rock song (two times); best alternative song; best Album of Rock and best Video Musical (two times). Furthermore, of the Grammy for the best album of latin rock.

A Latin band that has it all

The band garnered good reviews from journalistic giants such as the New York Times: “The greatest rock band in Mexico and -to some ears- possibly even the world”. Mientras que para Billboard la banda es “una fuerza perdurable en la música latina” (an ongoing force in Latin music).

Their lead singer, Rubén Albarrán, has always been proud to be Latino and at the Hispanic Heritage Awards said, according to EFE, that "Estados Unidos es grande gracias a los migrantes” (“the United States is great thanks to migrants").

The band's bassist, Enrique Rangel, said: "We've been able to travel this country by bus from city to city and have forged a relationship with the audience here".

In addition, Rangel added that the band, over 30 years of concerts, has been able to the importance and growth of Latinos throughout the United States: "There are Latinos everywhere”.

All of this makes Café Tacvba one of the most important Latin bands internationally and their growth in the Latin community will continue to be exceptional and will surely fill the Hard Rock Café on November in Sacramento. Let’s hope they do!
