"The Latin Grammys have gone with their music elsewhere, and more precisely to Andalusia". With this explicit and strong slogan, the Spanish southern community is promoting in a video on social networks the imminent celebration of the 2023 Latin Grammy awards.

For the first time in history, the annual gala of this prestigious award, awarded by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, will be held outside the United States. Seville, the Andalusian capital, will attract all the attention of the international music sector on December 16. Five days before the gala, the city will start activities related to the event, where the most recognized figures of global Latin music will participate.

In the promotional clip, scenes of technical operators are combined finishing preparations for the gala, along with images that show the beauty and grandeur of this territory, such as the renowned Cathedral of Seville, the Torre del Oro or the warm and welcoming Andalusian courtyards. The video portrays the process of "moving" the award to another country, and includes many clues related to the gala: cards with the names of winners, a gramophone, or the red carpet where nominees, guests and invited personalities will walk through.

"Only two weeks left to vibrate with the Latin Grammys. For the first time they leave the U.S. and come to Andalusia. There is no better place. Being the home of the biggest Latin music event will attract the international spotlight. We are ready," tweeted Juanma Moreno, president of the Junta de Andalucía.

One of the central issues is why Seville was chosen to host the Latin Grammys. According to Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Music Academy, the gala requires "the channels, the stations and the infrastructure necessary to celebrate it. Seville has it all". In addition, he already advanced that the goal was not to replicate the show that is organized every year in Las Vegas. "The city of Seville will be the protagonist. We want its music and culture to be reflected," he added.

For the audiovisual realization of the event, Radio Televisión Española and Univisión reached a collaboration agreement, and the event will have a local production team that will take care of all the details. In addition, the Junta de Andalucía and the Seville City Council were also involved in the logistics organization.

The event will be held at the city’s Congress and Exhibition Centre. However, during the week there will also be multiple concerts on an iconic stage in the Plaza de España, in a space called "Santalucía Universal Music Week". In this location a tent of 5,000 square meters will be erected, where will perform popular pop and flamenco stars such as Lola Indigo, Pablo López, Morat, Juan Magán, Aitana or Antonio Orozco. "It will be a spectacular gala," predicted President Juanma Moreno.
