Maria Cristina Rios is the new Board President of Prospanica Philadelphia.

Prospanica Philadelphia is a professional development organization whose mission is to empower and enable Hispanic professionals to achieve their full educational, economic, and social potential.

Throughout her professional career, Rios has consistently demonstrated ways of reaching her own potential, as she has established herself as a recognized marketing leader. Her specialization includes retail and both multicultural and event marketing.

Rios is also an entrepreneur, as she is the founder and owner of Rios Marketing.

Through her business, she helps businesses achieve success by developing data-driven, measurable marketing and communication plans to increase sales, drive traffic and build brand affinity.

Rios Marketing helps established firms see the value in the Hispanic consumer market as the next level of growth for their company by developing Hispanic marketing plans.

Prior to beginning her entrepreneurial journey, Rios worked at various Fortune 500 companies, gaining considerable national recognition for her positive impact.

About a decade of her career was with Macy’s in Atlanta, and New York City, respectively. She worked her way up from multicultural media specialist to multicultural marketing manager, before becoming director of multicultural marketing & media strategy and director of multicultural customer strategy, later moving on to pursue her next career endeavor.

That next career endeavor included arriving to Philadelphia, where she has continued further developing her reputation as a marketing leader and consultant.

In addition to her new board president role with Prospanica Philadelphia, Rios is also the Marketing Communications Consultant for the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Inspired by her personal background as a Mexican-American entrepreneur, Rios has dedicated herself to assisting small and other diverse-owned businesses to succeed and grow through strategic marketing plans and engaging content.

Rios previously led Comcast's multicultural and event strategy for more than 500 Xfinity stores as its director of retail marketing communications. She also works as an account planner at UMG, and senior director of creative strategy design & storytelling at rār.

A graduate of St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, Rios earned her bachelor’s degree in English-Communication Arts with an emphasis in business.
