Recent studies have shown that men who consume a diet high in cholesterol may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in their daughters. This groundbreaking research, led by the University of California, Riverside, revealed that unhealthy paternal diets can alter RNA in sperm, affecting the health of offspring. The study, conducted on mice, found that the daughters of males fed a high-cholesterol diet had a two- to three-fold increase in atherosclerosis, a key factor in CVD. Surprisingly, this effect was only observed in female offspring, not in males.
