I mean, could someone have thought it possible that the clown-in-chief and two of his henchmen, the deranged ex New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and that immigrant-hater par excellence, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, would wear hats with the slogan “Make Mexico great again also?”

Believe it or not, they did just that before Trump’s racist immigration speech last Wednesday, immediately after returning from a meeting with Mexico’s President. In that speech he repeated his promise to build a wall along the Mexican border and force Mexico to pay for it.

Apparently “Making American great” is no longer enough for Trump, who now seems to have decided to save Mexico “also” --and who knows how many other countries.

Jonah Goldberg put it this way in a tweet:

"Make Mexico Great Again, Also"

"Ensure Canada is Ok."

"Try to make Belize copacetic if you can."

"We’ll get around to Moldova."

No, you cannot make this stuff up.

And who could have imagined the GOP nominee would hold a surreal joint press conference with cartoonish Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, his strange mass of hair artfully held in position by bobby pins? Yep, we always knew there was something weird with the GOP blowhard’s mane and now –feel free to laugh-- pictures have revealed the secret: It is bobby pins that keep his combover in place. Definitely, you cannot make this stuff up.

And then there is poor Marco Gutiérrez, founder of something called Latinos for Trump issuing a somber warning about a terrible danger looming over the nation.

“If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner,” a concerned-looking Gutiérrez told Joy Reid in an interview on MSNBC last week. Oh yes, be afraid, very afraid, first it is taco trucks then a mariachi bands invasion…

Soon after Gutiérrez’s dire warning a new slogan, “A taco truck in every corner” took over social media and became a playful battle cry for Trump’s opponents and Mexican food lovers.

The craziness has become too much even for the GOP candidate’s few Hispanic supporters, who are now tripping over each other in their haste to escape him after Trump’s reiterated last week his intention of persecuting and massively deporting immigrants.

“At this point, I just don’t see how I can support him. So I’m withdrawing my support,” Alfonso Aguilar, president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, said to the Associated Press. “I was expecting something very different last night.”

C’mon Mr. Aguilar, where have you been all your life? It is not as if you and your fellow self-hating Hispanics didn’t know who you were dealing with. After all, right from the start Trump made his hatred for immigrants the centerpiece of his campaign. Remember when he launched his campaign by saying: “They (Mexicans) are bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people?”

Just for a minute imagine what the next four years would be if this bigoted conman gets to the White House. Then file it under “You can’t make this stuff up.”
