Jon Bon Jovi helps low-income families in need of shelter.
The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation in partnership with People for People, Inc and Project H.O.M.E, held a grand opening for the JBJ Soul Homes on Tuesday, April 22.
"The uniqueness of this project showcases the opportunity to provide shelter to Philadelphia's most vulnerable youth and adults. This building stands out as an example of the power of we," Jon Bon Jovi said. "Its a natural continuation of the work that we do, which started with the youth at Covenant House several years ago."
The four-story building includes 55 apartment units for the formerly homeless and low-income families. Located in North Philadelphia on Fairmount Avenue between 15th and Broad, residents of JBJ Soul Homes will have access to all Project H.O.M.E services.
"The single most effective way to end homelessness is affordable housing," Sister Mary Scullion, co-founder of Project Home said.
The JBJ Soul Homes is a $20 million project and received donations from private and public funders.
