An 8-year-old girl helps mom deliver baby brother at their Florida home, according to WFTS-TV.
Kryslte Garcia was about give birth when she told her 8-year-old daughter, Jazmine, to dial 911. "I was in the bathroom and my water broke so I yelled for her to grab the cordless phone." Garcia then told the dispatcher "oh my god, oh my god, it feels like something is coming out."
The dispatcher alerted paramedics but they couldn't get there fast enough before the baby arrived, so the dispatcher talked Garcia and Jazmine through the delivery. During the phone call, Jazmine was instructed to get towels and other items to secure the baby's head.
Garcia and her healthy baby boy, Joseph James Snyder, went to the hospital after paramedics arrived. The proud mother later commented on how her daughter handled the stress. "She definitely stayed calm when she needed to. I was hysterical."
