$500 cheesesteaks?

Golf outings, backyard barbecues, yacht cruises, cocktail parties—these are just a few of the ways political candidates schmooze money out of individuals to fundraise for campaigns, according to the Sunlight Foundation's "Political Party Time" blog. So, somewhat predictably, Philadelphia-area politicians have taken to throwing $500-per-individual ($1000-per-PAC) fundraisers in Washington, D.C., revolving around, you guessed it, cheesesteaks.
Congressional leaders including Joe Pitts, gubernatorial candidate Allyson Schwartz and Pat Meehan have, in the past several years, have released information concerning these cheesesteak money-makers. The events didn't differ in price, but Meehan's invitation advertised Yuengling, and several others displayed bad clip art renderings of Philly's famous cuisine (so you know the event has to be a blast).
Either Washington-area supporters are desperate for a good cheesesteak (for $500 there better be Amoroso's rolls) or truly starved for better political candidates.
