While the world security analysts still try to understand why Britain has become the center of a row of terrorist attacks, the mayor of London said Donald Trump should cancel state visit after a series of tweets in which he mocked at the mayor's "soft" speech against terrorists.

According to The Guardian, the London mayor, Sadiq Khan, has called on the British government to cancel a planned state visit by Donald Trump after being criticised in two tweets by the US president.

Trump also took advantage of the London attacks to defend his travel ban again citizens of  six majority Muslim countries, alleging it will help to stop terrorists to enter the US. For the moment, the US Justice system has stopped the travel ban executive order to be implemented, alleging it is discriminatory.

Appearing on Channel 4 News on Monday evening, Khan said Trump was wrong about “many things” and that his state visit should not go ahead.

“I don’t think we should roll out the red carpet to the president of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for,” he said, as reported in The Guardian.

 “Sadiq Khan is doing a good job and it’s wrong to say anything else – he’s doing a good job.”, said prime minister Theresa May, avoiding to comment further. Britain is holding general election this incoming Thusday, June 8. 

On Sunday, a day after the attack, Khan had tweeted:  “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. There’s no reason to be alarmed.”

A few hours later, Trump replied in a mocking tone: “At least seven dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!” Trump tweeted.

Then the London mayor’s office  responded by saying Khan had “more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks”.

Hours later, Trump retorted: “Pathetic excuse by London mayor Sadiq Khan, who had to think fast on his ‘no reason to be alarmed’ statement. [Mainstream media] is working hard to sell it!”

On the other hand, British police confirmed they have identified Khuram Butt and Rachid Redouane as two of three London attackers. 
Butt, 27, was British citizen born in Pakistan. Redouane, 30, had claimed to be both Moroccan and Libyan.

It is the third terrorist attack to happen in Britain in three months. While the country prepares to hold general elections on Thursday, politicians and security experts try to understand why the country has become a focus of terrorism, as reported in The New York Times. 

The anticipated elections next Thursday were called  by current prime minister Theresa May to confirm her leadership and make sure she has the popular support to carry on with Brexit. May was named prime minister only to substitute his predecessor, conservativve David Cameron, who resigned after British people voted to leave the European Union on a referendum.

Opposite to Cameron, May is a supporter of Brexit. One of the main reasons for Brexit is to stop massive immigration to the UK and improve national security.
