As former attorney general Kathleen Kane was forced to step down due to her conviction of perjury and obstruction of justice, the race has been centered around ensuring the candidates can not only protect the people they serve but also offer total transparency once they take office.

Running against Republican State Senator John Rafferty, Josh Shapiro is the Montgomery County commissioner who has been pinned as the most likely candidate to win the seat this November.
