Joining 10 states in a suit against President Donald Trump’s administration, Pennsylvania is taking a stand against what they perceive to be a lack of energy regulations, according to Philadelphia Magazine.

The additional states taking up the task against the administration are: New York, California, Maryland, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon and Washington State.

A release from Attorney General Josh Shapiro states that the Trump administration’s failure to follow through with the regulations set out by the Obama administration in December are cutting the public short in a number of ways. From saving consumers and businesses roughly $11.6 billion, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 159 million tons and conserve 242 billion kilowatt hours of electricity over 30 years, the regulations could transform energy consumption in the U.S.

The hold up on the regulations is a final move required by the Department of Energy, with which they have to submit the rules to the Federal Register. The Trump administration never picked up where the Obama administration left off in the filing.

“This is about standing up for the rule of law,” Shapiro said in a press release. “These energy-efficiency standards were approved to protect consumers, small businesses and our environment, and the Trump Administration can’t simply refuse to put them in place.”

The steps moving forward are seeking a court order that will require the DOE to take the final steps.
