It is customary for "First Friday" to have many of the local museums and galleries within the Center City District opened for droves of people to look at many fine works of art. The one thing that has been overlooked is that deep in the heart of North Philadelphia, there is a cultural art center that focuses on the community at large. Taller Puertorriqueño has been a staple of the Latino community for over 40 years.

The inaugural exhibition in the El Corazón Cultural Center "Nuestro Tema: Llamada y Repuesta" looks at the Latino community through its art collection. Taller Puertorriqueño understands that art in the community brings people together as well as enriches their lives.  For more information on any current and upcoming events or exhibitions at Taller Puertorriqueño, please visit their website at https://tallerpr.org
