The 17th Annual Career Fair, organized by AL DÍA News, is a traditional recruiting event that was created to connect well-qualified professionals from all over our diverse region with the employers seeking them.
The Diversity Career Fair will take place on Thursday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St., Philadelphia. At this year’s gathering, Mayor Jim Kenney will deliver the ceremonial ribbon cutting.
This year, the event is hosting established recruiters and offering resume building assistance, as well as complimentary professional photos. The program will also include several panel discussions with senior professional leaders.
Featuring talent hunters from government, business/finance, education, retail, healthcare, and energy, the Diversity Career Fair is a great opportunity for jobseekers to connect with their next employer.
Merrill Lynch, the U.S. Army, the Philadelphia Airport, Marriott Family of Hotels, PGW, SEPTA, New York Life, Drexel LeBow School of Business, Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha, and the Philadelphia Phillies are only a handful of the recruiters that will be present at the upcoming edition of the Diversity Career Fair.
During the panel discussions, which are open to the public, Latino leaders from the energy, hospitality and government sectors will discuss the opportunities in the industries, and the importance of diversity in the workplace.
Our first panel is composed of senior professionals from the hospitality industry:
Carol Watson, General Manager at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia
Olivia Green, General Manager at Hampton Inn Philadelphia Airport
David S. Lynch, Assistant Director of Human Resources at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia
This discussion will start at 10:15 a.m. Participants in the energy and government panels will be announced soon.
Building a good resume is key to being considered for a job interview. For this reason, the Diversity Career Fair, in partnership with CareerLink, is providing resume building assistance for attendees. The first 100 attendees will also receive a professional photo—taken by one of AL DIA’s seasoned photographers—which will be perfect for LinkedIn.
For this edition of the Diversity Career Fair, AL DÍA has partnered with Campus Philly, CareerLink, Prospanica, the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, 6ABC, PHL Diversity, the Pennsylvania Convention Center and the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA). Some of these partners will also be recruiting during the event.
