August 18th, 2023On Aug. 1st, regional integrated healthcare provider Tower Health took on a new member of its board of directors, Mary Kargbo, for a three year term.
The Tower Health board of directors is composed entirely of volunteers who bring community oversight to Tower Health as they seek to provide both cost-effective and high-quality healthcare for serviced communities.
In addition to her new board position, Kargbo currently serves as President and CEO of Berks Community Health Center and has done so since 2012. Her prior experience includes serving as President and CEO for Sheehan Health Network, and Chief Operating Officer for Orleans Community Health.
She also served as Nurse Manager and Director of Maternal Child Services for St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center, and as a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Community General Hospital, both located in Syracuse, NY.
“With her vast knowledge of healthcare and the Tower Health service area Mary will be a valuable asset to our Board of Directors,” said P. Sue Perrotty, Tower Health President and CEO, in a statement.

“Tower Health and the Berks Community Health Center share a goal of improving the health of our community. I look forward to Mary’s contributions as a board member and benefiting from her extensive knowledge of the healthcare needs of the communities we serve,” she continued.
Kargbo received both her Master of Science in Maternal Child Administration and her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Syracuse University. Additionally, she graduated from a Nurse Midwifery program by Edgware Hospital in Middlesex, UK.
“I’ve committed my career to providing exceptional healthcare within my community,” Kargbo said in a statement. “Joining the Tower Health Board of Directors will allow me an additional opportunity to work with the other dedicated board members, leadership team, medical staff, and team members to guarantee the health system is fulfilling its mission of providing high-quality healthcare.”
Tower Health consists of nearly 12,000 members, providing service to communities in Philadelphia, Berks, Montgomery, and Chester Counties.
