On July 20, Canela Media, a tech driven company that works to redefine digital media experiences for the Latino community, announced the appointment of Peter Gonzalez as its new Chief Technology Officer.

The company is both woman and diverse leader owned, and seeks to connect multicultural audiences with media brands through its platform service Canela.TV, providing multiple forms of media culturally relevant to Latinos.

As Chief Technology Officer, Gonzalez will oversee the company's technology initiatives, such as developing and carrying out its technical strategies, while working with the executive team to build their digital infrastructure, improve efficiency, and work to establish them as a leader in digital media.

"We are thrilled to welcome Peter to Canela Media as our new CTO," said Isabel Rafferty Zavala, Founder and CEO of Canela Media, in a statement.

"Peter joins Canela Media with a vast experience in developing innovative tech solutions and products for media and entertainment companies.  His experience combined with our commitment to innovation and excellence is a perfect match to continue to elevate Canela Media’s product and technology offering,” she continued.

Over the course of Gonzalez's 25-year career in broadcast media and entertainment, he has worked in numerous roles, the most recent being that of Senior Vice President of the media Technology Team for WWE, where he worked on their software, video engineering, content distribution, and live streaming.

Other positions include that of Executive initiative Leader at GE Capital, and as Senior Director of Digital Technology for Turner Broadcasting, where he was responsible for the technical strategy and use of digital solutions and products for several of Turner's properties, including CNNMoney, Fortune, and Money magazine.

“Joining Canela Media as CTO is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to exercise my passion and experience working with a very talented team with whom I share the ambition to continue to evolve and build best-in-class products with unparalleled innovation and technology,” Gonzalez said in a statement.
