Temple University’s Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry and world biggest supplier of medical, dental and veterinary care products, Henry Schein, Inc., are joining forces to create a new center in Philadelphia.
The Dean of Kornberg School of Dentistry, Amid Ismail, announced the partnership May 15, during the 2015 dental school graduation ceremony at Temple. The result of this partnership will be the Henry Schein Digital Center of Excellence, which will be created to support the training of current and new professionals and the development of digital dentistry field in the city.
"Nothing is more impressive in our profession than the continuing acceleration of oral health technology," said Stanley M. Bergman, Henry Schein Chief Executive Officer. "Our support for the creation of the Henry Schein Digital Center of Excellence at Temple's Kornberg School of Dentistry underscores our commitment to be a reliable source of the latest digital dental equipment and technology for students and practitioners. This center will serve the ultimate purpose of helping practitioners operate successful practices and improve patient care."
The center will open in the next 12 months and it will represent, according to Ismail, “a new private-public collaboration to advance the skills and knowledge of current and future dentists in the new and rapidly emerging era of digital dentistry.”
