20th Century Skill Coordinator
We are looking for a 21st Century Skills Coordinator to you join our brand new Opportunity Youth Collaborative (OYC) program in Atlantic County, NJ. OYC provides training and supports to opportunity youth looking to enter career pathways in the retail and hospitality sectors in South Jersey.
Job Duties:
Facilitate workshops and activities for OYC members using JEVS 21st Century Curriculum on career and job readiness
Collaborate with community partners to provide appropriate career assessment, placement, and retention supports for OYC members
Prepare and maintain database(s) of post-secondary credential options, including employment, trade school, military, and colleges.
Participate in the recruitment of students, enrollment, and provide ongoing supports for program success as well as tracking data in program specific database.
Collaborate with staff of all Youth & Gateway programs
Engage employers, trade schools, colleges, and community groups in the ongoing activities of OYC including tours, fairs, and off site trips for OYC members.
Other related duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, education, social work, vocational or other appropriate fields, required
1+ years' experience with job placement, job readiness, employer networking/outreach, and/or similar experience, required; experience in job development, career services, and career counseling/coaching experience a plus.
Experience working with Out of School Youth (OSY) and hard to serve populations facing multiple barriers to learning and employment, required
Willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and some Saturdays
MS Office proficiency (especially MS Word and Excel). Willingness to learn JEVS specific database.
