Argentine actress Stephanie Beatriz recently told EFE how proud she is of her achievements in the film industry. Along with that sentiment, she also highlighted how important the support of mentors and friends is to move up in the industry.

Beatriz is currently filming Twisted Metal in New Orleans, where she plays one of the main characters alongside Anthony Mackie, who is also executive producer of a series that's an adaptation of the 90s video game.

She was born in Neuquén, Argentina, and plays Quiet, "a fierce car thief who acts purely on instinct."

"This role requires me to do acrobatics, fighting and many things I've never done before, including learning to direct with manual shifting," said Beatriz, who also lent her voice for the character Mirabel in Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios' Oscar-winning film Encanto.

Beatriz also played Carla in 2020's film adaptation of In the Heights, by Puerto Rican composer and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In the series Modern Family, she also appeared in three episodes as Sonia, Gloria's sister, played by Colombian Sofia Vergara.

Beatriz is the daughter of a Colombian father and Bolivian mother. The family moved to Houston, Texas when she was two years old, and she found acting while in high school.

In her role as a mentor, she's worked on choosing three finalists for a short film contest held by the McDonald's Spotlight Dorado competition, highlighting up-and-coming filmmakers.

The Argentine actress said she's been very lucky throughout her career thanks to the roles she's played.

"A person like me would not have had a career like this 20 years ago, things were different," said Beatriz.
