She has cemented her reputation as one of the most versatile actresses of her generation. Born on August 11, 1989, in Sant Pere de Vilamajor, a small town in the province of Barcelona, Spain, Úrsula Corberó is once again making headlines worldwide thanks to her co-starring role in one of the season's standout series: the new adaptation of The Day of the Jackal, starring British actor Eddie Redmayne.

This achievement is particularly remarkable considering, as she admitted in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, that until recently, she didn’t speak a word of English.

“I only recently incorporated English into my life. People say, ‘Well, of course, Úrsula is bilingual,’ but no, I’m not bilingual. Five years ago, I didn’t speak a word of English, and it was really tough for me. For the first project I was cast in (Snatch, 2018), I didn’t speak any English. I learned everything phonetically, and—I swear—I was on the plane throwing up from the nerves. I memorized my lines and the protagonist’s lines. We started running lines together, and I thought I had messed up the scene because I couldn’t understand a thing. I felt completely alone,” she shared in that interview.

From a young age, Corberó dreamed of becoming an actress, although her career began in commercials before making the leap to television and film.

Her rise to international fame came with her role as Tokyo in Netflix’s hit series Money Heist (La Casa de Papel). Since then, she has shown a fascination for exploring characters who operate on the fringes of the law. In the globally successful Netflix series, she was part of the gang that successfully robbed Spain's Central Bank.

Now, with her latest dive into the "criminal" world in Disney's *The Jackal*, she not only reaffirms her talent but also her penchant for "playing on the edge" of what is morally acceptable and forbidden. In this new adaptation of the famous fictional assassin’s tale, Corberó plays the wife who is aware of her husband’s criminal activities. Through this role, Corberó once again explores the boundaries of morality and justice.

In her personal life, Corberó has been in a relationship with Argentine actor Chino Darín since 2016. The two met while filming the series The Embassy (La Embajada) and have since formed a stable and admired couple in the entertainment world. She has also frequently spoken about the unconditional support she has received from her family, especially her mother, who always encouraged her artistic dreams.
