West Side Story
The remake of the iconic musical film is directed by Steven Spielberg and it was Spielberg himself who made it clear that the production would feature Latino actors.
"No whitewashing!" said the director, recalling the two gangs in West Side Story: the Puerto Rican 'Sharks' and the 'Jets', predominantly white. In the first film, both gangs consisted of white actors wearing makeup.
In this new version, Ansel Elgort will take over the role Richard Beymer played in 1961, and Colombian Rachel Zegler will play Maria, the protagonist, and Puerto Rican Ariana DeBose will play Anita.
The Matrix Resurrections
This new version of the Matrix film series is not a sequel, but an independent story, according to David Mitchell, co-writer of the film. Mitchell went on to tell To Vime that he saw the final cut of what was a "very good" film that will be "revolutionary."
So far, it is a mystery how the story will develop, but Keanu Reeves assured that Matrix 4 was actually a love story.
"We have a wonderful writer and director, Lana Wachowski, and she has written a beautiful script that is a love story, it's inspiring, the other version of a kind of wake-up call, and it entertains, with great action," he said.
