The animated film 'Encanto' arrives in Spain
Disney's new animated feature film Encanto premiered in Madrid on Sunday, Nov. 21, and was received with excitement by the city's Colombian community.
Disney's new animated film, Encanto was received with great fanfare by the Colombian community living in Spain on Sunday, Nov. 21 in Madrid. The feature film, inspired by Colombia and its traditions, premiered in the Spanish capital and will be available in theaters starting Nov. 26.

The Colombian embassy in Madrid organized the premiere of the film together with the production company, which was attended by around 800 people, including children and adults. Some members of the Colombian diplomatic representation and ProColombia attended the screening.

The spectators were able to paint their faces with flowers and other motifs that imitated the animals that appear in the film. Some people wore traditional costumes from the regions of Huila and Cartagena.
During the celebration, the theme song "Colombia, mi encanto,” performed by singer Carlos Vives, and main theme of the film's soundtrack, was played. Encanto tells the story of the Madrigal family, a magical family living in the mountains of Colombia. The main character, Mirabel, must fight to keep this magic alive.
The film is full of references to Colombian culture, traditional clothing, vueltiaos hats, ruanas, food, colors, and animals of the local fauna.
