Actress Eva Longoria returns to the world of animation in The Boss Baby: Family Business, playing the mother of a young girl who is overwhelmed by her environment.

The Latina actress, producer, activist and director, reflected on the social pressure children and adolescents suffer today.

"We put too much pressure on children to do things and more things instead of them being themselves," she told EFE in an interview.

Her character in the animated comedy allowed the actress to talk about motherhood, and how parents today are constantly on top of children without letting them express themselves freely about what they want, like, or their "questioning" about life.

"I think we need to take a step back and make sure our kids are good people. We're not just raising talented or smart kids. We need to focus more on whether they are kind and thoughtful and less on whether they speak five languages," she said.

The sequel to the animated comedy features Boss Baby Ted (Baldwin), grown up and turned millionaire, and his brother Tim (Marsden), living with his wife Carol (Longoria) and daughters Tabitha (Greenblatt) and Tina (Sedaris). Trouble ensues when it is discovered that Tina is also part of the secret Baby Corp. organization.

Longoria recounted that Carol is "the CEO of the house" even though there are too many secrets about her family that she doesn't know.

"She knows something is up with Tina because the baby is acting very strangely," she commented.

Carol finds herself with a husband adrift, while her older daughter with self-esteem issues is terrified by a school musical performance.

She said that in the film "the main characters have to become babies to save the world and then they realize that as adults they were very disconnected. So, by being children again, they become better men," he said.
