According to Granma newspaper, singer and producer Suylén Milanés, daughter of Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés, died as a result of a stroke on Sunday, Jan. 30 in Cuba.

The report confirmed that Suylén, 50 years old, had been at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Havana since Thursday, Jan. 27, where she was being treated. The sad news was confirmed by the singer's mother, Nancy Pérez, through a press release.

So far, it has been confirmed that there will not be a public wake for the artist. The renowned father of the artist has no plans to travel to Cuba and has not canceled the tour he planned for Spain.

Family, friends and the Cuban cultural scene lamented the loss of Suylén on social media.
