The ceremony will last three hours and will be held as part of Billboard's Latin Music Week.
This year's edition will once again be held in Miami, after last year's change of city due to the coronavirus crisis. It will take place from September 20-25, and will be filled with events that analyze the state of the music industry, exclusive presentations, workshops and a section on "field experiences for the consumer."

At the last edition, Puerto Rican artists Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny were the winners of the night, taking home seven awards each. However, this year, it is expected that gender diversity will be considered in the awards, since the event received a lot of criticism on social media for the lack of female inclusion in the categories, and only four women managed to win statuettes.
The organizers said the Billboard Latin Music Awards honor the most popular albums, songs and performers in Latin music, based on actual sales results, streaming, radio airplay and social media that provide information to Billboard's weekly charts for a year.
This year's event will be broadcast in Latin America and the Caribbean on Universo and Telemundo Internacional, live from Miami.
