Enrique Iglesias release “Espacio en tu corazón”, the beginning of the end of his musical career
For this supposed final stake, Iglesias stopped the experiments with contemporary musical genres, and returned to the effective romantic ballad
Many will find it hard to believe, but it seems that Enrique Iglesias won’t release new music anymore. After signing his first record contract in 1995 and selling since then more than 70 million records and productions, the legendary Spanish singer released the single “Espacio en tu corazón”, the first advance of his latest album “Final Vol.2”.
For this supposed final stake, Iglesias stopped the experiments with contemporary musical genres, and returned to the effective romantic ballad. He didn't want to repeat the formula that bring him success in clubs all over the world, and opted for a simple base of acoustic guitar arpeggios and his soft voice to make a statement of love and tenderness.
“You still love me, I know that very well. I know no one can quench your thirst. But if I go, I know I'll lose. That space in your heart that I stole”, he sings in a chorus accompanied by a female voice in the background.
The song was used as the main song of the Mexican telenovela "Corazón Guerrero", where Univisión presenter Alejandra Espinoza made her debut as the main character. The plot of the series is based on the story of "Valientes", a very successful Argentinian production.

It is not the first time that the Latin musical star shares his voice to television series. He already did it in the past in other Televisa productions, such as " Cuando me enamoro" (2011) or " Lo que la vida me robó" (2013).
The artist, with more than 16 million followers on Instagram and leader in sales lists in the last decades, already recognized at the end of 2011 that the process of recording albums is "exhausting". He then revealed that he was working on a final double album: the second part of it will be available next September.
Unlike what was included in "Final Vol.1", where Iglesias brought together recent hits together with new songs in English and Spanish such as "Pendejo" or "Te Fuiste", the artist won’t use urban sounds in the second dispatch, a successful formula used in the last years. Now, the most romantic, profound and sensory Iglesias is back. The exact date of the next release is still unknown.
Despite his supposed definitive goodbye to the record industry, the Spaniard made it clear that he will continue composing. “This doesn't mean I won't write songs, it could take me five years to write a song, but it could also take me five minutes. I write most of my songs at home, so it's feasible, but this is my last album at the moment”. According to him, he made this decision between 2016 and 2017, and after thinking about it deeply, he keeps his thoughts.
Iglesias is probably one of the Latin artists who has accumulated more awards on his career. He has a Grammy for Best Latin Artist, five Latin Grammys, five Billboard Awards, 45 Latin Billboard Awards, 10 World Music Awards, 8 American Music Awards, 23 Lo Nuestro Awards... The list is endless.
