Elvis Crespo recently made the announcement of a new tour on social media to honor 25 years of his global hit "Suavemente." The first stop will be on April 14, 2023 on the Coca-Cola Music Hall stage in San Juan for a show produced by Paco Lopez (No Limit Entertainment) and Maribel Vega (Flash Music).

The 25th anniversary tour of this great success is a reason for happiness for the artist.

"I am happy to be back in my country and celebrate this important date in my career. Without the support I received on my island, the success of 'Suavemente' would not have been possible," Crespo said in an official statement.

"Suavemente" is a song that is part of the history of popular music for being the first tropical song to enter Billboard magazine's Hot Latin Song chart in 1998. It is also the title of Crespo's first solo album, for which he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album, according to EFE

Paco Lopez, producer of the tour, also said that "Elvis is an icon of tropical music, 25 years ago his music transcended places and languages without the advantages of technology that exist today. His presence on stage is unparalleled for his energy and charisma. We are going to present a great concert to celebrate the anniversary of 'Suavemente.'"

Elvis Crespo and Bad Bunny

On Friday, during the Billboard Latin Awards show, Crespo released a merengue version of Bad Bunny's "Neverita."

Crespo appeared on stage in a Matrix-inspired costume in the style of his video. After performing the reggaetonero's song in merengue, he sang his timeless hit "Suavemente," which reached number 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart on May 16, 1998, where it stayed for six weeks.
