At only 18 years old, Brazilian model Valentina Boscardin died on Sunday, Jan. 9, due to complications caused by COVID-19. The young model was hospitalized in Sao Paulo and arrived with blood clots and pneumonia after contracting the virus. According to reports, the disease caused a thrombosis that ended her life.

Her mother, TV presenter Marcia Boscardin, announced the terrible news on social media.

According to her mother, Valentina was in good health, and was immunized with both doses of the Pfizer vaccine, so the fatal news puzzled everyone.

Felipe Campos, journalist and family friend, shared the news through his social networks.

"The daughter of the beloved model and businesswoman Marcia Boscardin passed away this weekend at the age of 18, victim of a blood clot after contracting the coronavirus," he wrote.

Valentina followed in her mother's footsteps and was part of the Ford Model Brasil Sao Paulo modeling agency, who also confirmed and mourned the news of her passing to local media.
