"Three of a kind" - Colombia's top three players in the UEFA Finals
The first time that three major power players from the Colombian National Team will go head to head for the UEFA Championship.
The UEFA Champions League tournament is down to its final four teams: Atletico Madrid, last year’s defending champions Real Madrid, Juventus, and AS Monaco. Three of these teams have major contributors to team Colombia’s recent success and ongoing quest to qualify for the World Cup to he held in Russia in 2018.
Those players are James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado, and Radamel Falcao. How will these players help their respective teams raise the UEFA Cup? Let's take a look.
Juventus has recently been on a surge during the Champions League with not only their offense, but also for not conceding a goal in the past 878 minutes of play. One of the reasons why is the outstanding play of winger Juan Cuadrado. Although he has only had a goal, two assists, and has given his teammates four scoring opportunities in this current tournament, Cuadrado has been able to shut down players such as Neymar and Lionel Messi and limit their scoring opportunities.
Radamel Falcao has scored his fifth goal in the six Champions League games this season as the striker for AS Monaco. With 45 goals in 50 European appearances, he has become the most prolific goal scorer in UEFA club competition history. Falcao's 18 goals in 24 league matches have positioned Monaco to the top of Ligue 1, emphasizing his spectacular return to form after a couple of bad breaks while playing at Manchester United and Chelsea.
Real Madrid has superstar James Rodriguez as part of their arsenal but have rarely used the 25 year-old striker throughout this tournament. The midfielder has only appeared nine times as part of La Liga this season but has scored three goals and tallied six assists. In four appearances in the Champions League, James has only gotten two assists. There has been speculation for some time that Rodriguez and Real Madrid coach Zinadine Zidane have not been seeing eye to eye.

James might be on the move to either Manchester United or to Juventus in Serie A. Regardless of his future residence, Rodriguez is a playmaker and can make an impact for Real Madrid to achieve back to back UEFA Cups. In International play, Rodriguez has scored three goals in the last six games for Colombia. The problem is not James' skills but too many talented players on the Real Madrid roster.
Who will be the Colombian to watch in the series? Don't count anyone out. Each player has a unique skill and will showcase their talents during the first week of May. The official draw ceremony will take place Friday April, 21st at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland and will be streamed live on UEFA.com
