Did you know Dec. 3 was International Persons with Disabilities Day? No, we didn't either. But a Swiss organization, Pro Infirmis, has made a moving video marking the day that we won't soon forget.

The video by Alain Gsponer records the reactions of passersby to mannequins with scoliosis, brittle bone disease, amputations and more, dressed in festive holiday wear and populating store display windows. Modelled on Miss Handicap 2010, Jasmin Rechsteiner; radio presenter and film critic Alex Oberholzer, track and field athlete Urs Kolly; blogger Nadja Schmid and actor Erwin Aljukic, the video encapsulates the entire Pro Infirmis project from initial measurements of the individuals to loving examination of the finished mannequins to their installation in stores along Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse Dec. 3.

Mark Zumbühl, a member of the organization's executive board said — according to the information that accompanies the video — that the campaign was one that promotes "acceptance of disability and the inclusion of people with disabilities."
