DrapShop is a food-delivery app specialized in food from Latin America and its rich culinary tradition. After thriving outside of the States up to this point, the app recently announced a launch in South Florida. 

The launch of DrapShop took place within the framework of Hispanic Heritage Month, because its creators aspire to contribute "to the Latino dream in the United States."

Food delivery apps have been in for a minute, and have only grown in recent years amid the pandemic. The Latino communities of South Florida now get a chance to try an a one-of-a-kind contribution to the space. 

At the launch event for DrapShop there were two startup companies developed by Latinos, focused on supporting small entrepreneurs starting their ventures and in need of a boost.

Some of the attendees at the event were big influencers and Hispanic celebrities like Yuvanna Montalvo, Juan Carlos García, Claudia Vergara, Andrea Ramírez, Paola Ruiz and César González Cocinero, who welcomed DrapShop because it "pays homage to the Latino talent around food," according to the press release.

Currently, DrapShop is South Florida, and will later cover the entire United States to meet the expectations of millions of Latinos. 

The food delivery trend  

According to Statista, the revenue of the entire food delivery industry will exceed $300 billion in 2022. Of this, more than 20% is generated in the United States, the country with the second highest output.

A recent survey by Deloitte also shows that almost half of people do not believe that their online food shopping habits will return to pre-COVID-19 levels.
