August 10th, 2023Under the sweltering backdrop of record-breaking heat for the DMV, several thousand Colombianos and other groups of the Latino diaspora converted to Catholic University. Once you arrived to the university grounds, the sounds of Vallenato and the aroma of tamales y lechon pierced the 100-degree weather.
Go Colombia LLC presented its 6th annual celebration of culture, art and music to promote pride within the Colombian communities that surround the DMV and on a national level. Local latino-owned businesses participated in the day-long event.
Mayor Muriel Bowser and the office of Latino Affairs recognized Go Colombia LLC and its co-founder Xiomara Vargas for their ongoing mission to elevate the Colombian culture and the Latin American diaspora. Check out some highlights of the festival in our photo gallery.
