A new craft beer inspired by Jenni Rivera
The artist's children launched the beverage in honor of the 10th anniversary of her death.
'La Chacalosa' is the name of a new beer inspired by the Diva de la Banda that was launched over the weekend in California by her eldest son, Michael Rivera.
Rivera said in a statement released by the EFE that this product is "a gift" for his mother, as the beer reminds him of a Sunday BBQ with her and his family "drinking a cold beer."
"I wanted to capture that essence of my mom, what the neighborhood is, and I thought that La Chachalosa, which is the title of one of her songs, worked perfectly as a name," Mike, as he is affectionately known, told the LA Times.

The 5.2% alcohol beer is produced by Cerveza Cito Brewery, chosen by the singer's children because of its good reputation in the area.
Michael told the LA Times that he felt the launch was a wise choice because of his mother's record as headlining the best-selling concert of all time — a feat achieved at the old Gibson Amphitheater.
The can design was also created by her son and includes elements that characterized the Diva de la Banda, such as butterflies. The main image features Jenni over the Long Beach skyline. On the back is a short biography of the artist serves to contextualize the origin of the product.
Jenni Rivera died 10 years ago, on Dec. 9, 2012, in a plane crash in the Sierra de Iturbide, in northern Mexico, after performing a concert at the Arena Monterrey.
