It's the most wonderful time of the year! You can already feel the arrival of Christmas in Barcelona, and with its streets dressed in lights, there is less time left for the inauguration of the nativity scene in Plaza Sant Jaume as Christmas fairs begin to fill their squares.

Christmas markets are a tradition in the city. With typical handmade products for the Christmas tables, sweets, gifts and crafts stalls, lights and decorations. Some of the historical markets of the city in the cathedral or in the Sagrada Familia, have become a must if you are visiting during the month of December.

This year also marks the first time a Christmas Market event comes to Barcelona, a festival inspired by the German Christmas markets. The event will be held on Dec. 17 and 18 in one of the most unique buildings in the old part of the city, the Patio de la Antigua Casa de la Convalecencia.

The Christmas Market promises a complete Christmas experience, and in it you will find gift stores, clothing, crafts; but you can also enjoy the best and most typical Christmas cuisine, such as churros, a warm cup of chocolate and traditional sweets of the season.

During both days, there will be activities designed for all audiences around the festive theme such as Christmas wreath decoration courses, family entertainment and children's activities while listening to a live blues band.

Tickets go on sale from tomorrow Nov. 30 at noon and cost seven euros. The venue will be open both days from 12 to 8:30 p.m., and the public will be able to tour the space and enjoy the experience and magic of Christmas with all the necessary security measures in place.
