Over the past few weeks, even the most recognized artists have been victims of negative comments about their bodies. They have not remained silent and continue with their work for gender equality, against inequality, and the pressure the suffer for having a specific physical appearance.

Using their platforms, in advertising campaigns or interviews, these Latina artists want to tell their stories and show that, like all women, the social pressure imposed by the beauty canon generates shame and insecurities about their bodies.

Singers, actresses, models and activists in social media speak out against beauty stereotypes and want to send a message of self-love and acceptance to the diversity of bodies that exist in the world.

One of the most talked about cases in recent weeks is that of Camila Cabello and the negative comments she received about her body for a video showing her exercising. The 24-year-old Cuban-American singer went jogging in the morning wearing leggings and a top that showed off her abdomen and arms. Hours later, a series of photos of her doing sports went viral on social media, with criticism about her body, to which the singer responded.

Selena Gomez also shared a series of bikini photos that went on sale earlier this month.

This time, the brand's advertising photos showed her unedited and natural body.

"What I love about this brand is that it celebrates women who unconditionally love their bodies, giving them the grace they deserve. I hope you love this collaboration as much as I do," said the actress and singer.

Selena has previously expressed her insecurity about her ideal of beauty.

"I've become very insecure over the years. I also have lupus, so my weight fluctuates a lot, so I had to learn very early on to have thick skin when it comes to criticism and to understand that none of that matters at all. It's wearing and obnoxious. That's all it is," Gomez said.

For her part, Demi Lovato has also surprised the world by the way she faces the big challenges in her life.

Despite the tough battle she has waged with addictions since 2011, she has spoken openly about her eating disorder. Throughout her career, Lovato has received a lot of criticism for her weight, but she has always known how to love herself and her processes.

"I wore glitter on my stretch marks to celebrate my body and all of its features (whether society considers them good or bad)," she wrote on social media so that her followers, like her, stop believing in female stereotypes that are not real.
