Cartagena is one of the most desirable destinations in the Caribbean and Colombia in general. It's a city whose value continues to rise thanks to the beauty that surrounds it and the quality of the real estate projects that are developed there.

Over the last few years, the appreciation of the city's real estate and its wide range of properties, in addition to the multiple business options, have made the city a focus of large foreign investments, making it as a key destination for investment in Colombia.

The Foreign Direct Investment ranking, FDI 2019 - 2020, highlights Cartagena as one of the 25 cities with the greatest potential to receive foreign investment. In addition, according to data from the Invest In Cartagena Investment Agency and ProColombia, the department of Bolivar and its capital have one of the most important industrial sectors in the country, having established itself as the main port in Colombia and the fourth in Latin America.

Thanks to its strategic geographic location in the heart of the continent, the warmth of its climate and four roads that connect the city with the north and center of the country, Cartagena is one of the most tourist-friendly cities in the country, a pillar of investment and development in the Caribbean region.

Where to invest in Cartagena?

These are three different sectors that are part of the city's offerings, not only for those looking to buy a home, but also for those who want to make good investments.

1. Real Estate

In its closing, 2021 was the best in the history of the country for housing. Experts recommend the city's real estate projects, especially flats, thanks to their high profitability.

According to the FDI Foreign Direct Investment ranking, Cartagena is one of the 25 cities with the greatest potential to receive foreign investment thanks to its high real estate valuation, wide housing selection and multiple options for doing business.

2. Entertainment projects

Cartagena is one of the most tourist-friendly cities in the country with different beaches of international recognition and other important tourist sites, among which are the Historic Center, the Northern Zone and the Rosario Islands, to name a few.

The economic life of Cartagena has two main sources — tourism and the industry. The first generates the most income for the city with great events such as concerts, congresses, and festivals. For this reason, it is highly profitable to invest in cultural events of great impact within the city, due to the flow of tourists.

3. Restaurants

Like any seaside city, the food in Cartagena is based inn seafood, but there are also dishes featuring on other types of meats.

The best restaurants in Cartagena are located in the Historic Center, and although the competition is abundant, the business opportunities in fusion foods from other parts of the world are also highly profitable.
