To honor and celebrate the leadership of the health and medical professionals in the region, AL DÍA will honor four outstanding doctors during the 2020 AL DÍA Top Doctors Forum & Reception.

The first honoree is Dr. Victor Navarro, MD. He is a gastroenterologist, hepatologist, internist, transplant hepatologist at Einstein Healthcare Network. 

The second honoree is Dr. Natalia Ortiz-Torrent, MD, FAPA, FAPM, FPCP. She is the medical director of consultation and liaison psychiatry at Temple University Hospital, as well as an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral science at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. 

The third honoree is Dr. Carmen E. Guerra, MD, MSCE, FACP. She is the advisory dean at the Dr. Helen O. Dickens House at the Perelman School of Medicine, associate director of diversity and outreach at the Abramson Cancer Center, vice chair of diversity and inclusion at the Department of Medicine, and associate professor of medicine at Ruth C. and Raymond G. Perelman School of Penn Medicine. 

The fourth honoree is Dr. Christian A. Bermudez, MD. He is the director of thoracic transplantation, surgical director of lung transplantation and ECMO, and professor of surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. 

The doctors were selected by an advisory board, which consists of Dr. Daniel Schidlow, board chair who served as the Walter H. and Leonore Annenberg Dean and senior vice president of medical affairs at Drexel from 2012-2019; Dr. Matilde Irigoyen; chair of the Department of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine at Einstein Healthcare Network; and Dr. Johanna Vidal-Phelan, senior medical director of pediatrics at UPMC and general pediatrician at Hamilton Health Center.

The event will serve to showcase and celebrate the new generation of medical professionals enriching diversity in the top health organizations of our region.

The 2020 AL DIA Top Doctors Forum & Reception will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 in the Lincoln Memorial at the Union League of Philadelphia from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To purchase tickets to the event, click here.
