Join us for an exciting and one-of-a-kind live cooking event with Chef Judith Suzarra-Campbell, the tiny but fierce and hardworking woman behind the “aripo”, where she will demonstrate recipes that transport you to the coast of Venezuela with every bite.
The mastermind of neighborly Sazón Restaurant and Café on 10th and Spring Garden Street, Judith has been cooking superb dishes from Venezuela for the past thirteen years that strike the perfect balance between delectable and healthy, changing Philadelphians’ minds about Latin American food. Her ingredients are natural, often locally sourced, and Judith ensures that Sazón’s menu is inclusive of all of her customer’s needs by offering vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options that do not sacrifice taste.
Along with arepas and her famous knock-out perníl, Judith will be preparing a Christmas dish from Venezuela, a special tradition tamale known as an “hallaca”, and she will have drinks to serve— including a hot chocolate from “The Chocolate Alchemist” himself, her husband and the co-owner of Sazón, Robert.
‘Tis the season!
AL DÍA News is proud to partner with Independence Blue Cross to present a series of cooking demonstrations by Philadelphia’s established and aspiring Latino chefs.
