According to a press release from the U.S. government, among the officials who will travel to Mexico on Monday, Sept.12 to discuss economic issues with the country are Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jayme White.

At the meeting, they hope to work on the "economic, social and commercial" priorities shared by both nations, the State Department added.

The meeting also aims to "promote economic development, job creation (...) and the reduction of poverty and inequality," the statement said.

The Secretary of State will also meet with Marcelo Ebrad, Mexican Foreign Minister.

Blinken's trip to Mexico comes after Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador traveled to Washington D.C. for a meeting with President Joe Biden in July.
