"The tireless search continues for bone fragments and objects that could be related to some of the missing people and are assumed to have been at the scene of the accident at the time of the explosion," Cuba's Minister of Public Health José Ángel Portal wrote on Twitter on Monday, Aug. 15.

On Sunday, Aug. 14, fragments were found in several places in the area of the fire and were also sent to "laboratories for identification."

On Friday, Aug. 12, the Cuban Government reported that at the site of the fire, 14 people officially were missing, including firefighters who were working to extinguish the flames when the huge explosion occurred.

For the moment, the government has not released their identities despite the claims of independent activists and NGOs, who have stated that some of them were young and also serving in the military.

On Friday, the fire was officially declared extinguished. However, the government has not released estimates of the economic cost of the disaster.

The flames affected a total of four warehouses in the industrial park, causing serious explosions with column of toxic black smoke that reached Havana, 104 kilometers away.

According to the daily report of the Ministry of Public Health on Aug. 15, it is the largest industrial disaster in the country's history and has so far left two people dead, 132 injured and 19 hospitalized.
