Philadelphia received some much deserved love from the Huffington Post last week, landing the the number five spot of places that techies should consider moving to this year.

“The city of Brotherly Love, the startup scene is banding together to grow, with rock star companies like  RJMetrics, DuckDuckGo, and Curalate,” the HuffPo article says. “It's clear they're doing an incredible job at growing the tech scene.”

I’m satisfied with the startups cited here and that Philly is getting known for something other than our somewhat famous cheese steaks. In addition to the startups mentioned above I was able to find a few others that Huffpost left out.

The article also highlights Philly’s average rent cost, which is much better than the monthly median of $3,000 in New York City. The top three cities on the list were San Francisco, Austin and San Jose.

And apparently, Philadelphia is now known for Benjamin Franklin fighting off a giant cheese steak. Thank goodness Huffpost neglected to mention that.
