More than 5,000 deportation orders have been issued since last July to unaccompanied minors who entered the United States illegally, according to the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).

Meanwhile, an additional 18,000 minors have crossed the southern border in the current fiscal year, which began in October 2014.
Out of 29,449 notifications issued to unaccompanied to appear before an immigration judge, 5.699 have been issued a deportation order, the vast majority (4,962) in their absence.
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has received 15,000 unaccompanied minors sent by DHS in FY 2015, and 14,000 of them have been discharged to a relative or sponsor: 1,077 in California, 869 in New York, 830 in Texas, and 778 in Florida.
