Check out the latest parameters of the security zone for the weekend of the Pope's visit.
Mayor Michael Nutter has released the latest security parameters for the Pope's visit during the World Meeting of Families on September 26-27, 2015.
Here are the major takeaways, which we've mapped out for you above:
THE RED ZONE: Events will Pope Francis will be held in two separate locations within the new security parameters, on the Ben Franklin Parkway and in Independence Mall. All people wishing to enter the red zone must pass through a security screening.
THE BLACK ZONE: Only authorized vehicles will be permitted within the black lines, which wrap roughly around the parameter of the red event zones. Unauthorized vehicles may not be parked on the street during the weekend of the Pope's visit.
On Friday, September 25th at 10 p.m., the Ben Franklin Bridge will close to vehicular traffic (shown in yellow lines above), and will be in effect until Sunday Night.
THE "TRAFFIC BOX," detailed in blue lines above, will not allow incoming traffic. Outgoing vehicles may not reenter this area until the security zone is lifted.
Certain local roads (yellow on the map) within the no-traffic zone will be open for emergency vehicles only.
