Philadelphia is not only the City of Brotherly Love, it is also the City of Sisterly Effectiveness. The City now joins thirty-one other major American cities with women’s commissions, dedicated to shining a light on issues that women experience through intersectional data-collection and discourse, and tearing down the barriers of male dominance in a variety of fields, sectors, and categories.

Among the flurry of jaw-dropping executive actions we’re trying to keep up with was President Trump’s withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The trade agreement between the U.S. and 11 other Pacific-rim countries was an attempt by the Obama administration to stem China’s growing influence in the region and around the world.

[OP-ED]: Patriotism on steroids: Trump’s isolationism

US President Donald Trump during the signing of two executive orders to revive controversial Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipeline projects during a White House event in Washington, United States. Trump said the construction of these two projects, planned for years but paralyzed by the Obama administration, will be subject to "terms and conditions" that his cabinet will "negotiate" with the companies in charge of building them. The question that swirls around Donald Trump’s inaugural address is whether his aggressively pronounced policy of America First will actually result in America Last -- not literally last, but declining in power and prestige because the United States no longer views its role in the world as promoting economic and geopolitical stability for our allies.
