Amy Eusebio, Philadelphia’s Municipal ID program director, was announced as Enriquez’s replacement.
On Feb. 28th, the Hispanic Bar Association (HBA) of Pennsylvania honored Enriquez with the La Justicia award for her work as Director of Philadelphia’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.
Miriam Enriquez will receive the award at the La Justicia Award ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 28.
“The conditions imposed by the DOJ were an unconscionable attempt to bully the City and its residents into changing our policies,” Mayor Jim Kenney said in a press release.
“Once again, President Trump is attempting to implement a policy which will have devastating consequences for immigrants and put the health of immigrant children at risk,” PA Attorney General Josh Shapiro said in a press release.
“Many in our immigrant communities are understandably concerned about their futures. These efforts are just part of the City’s work to reassure them that Philadelphia is, and will remain, a Welcoming City,” Office of Immigrant Affairs Director Miriam Enriquez said in a press release.
